Alright, for those who still don’t know where the name BLOC came from…
It’s because the place literally looked like a block.
That’s it.
That’s the whole reason.
So yeah, imagine me standing there like,
“Alright, let’s just call it… BLOC.”
Decision made on the spot.
When I first saw the building, it was instant.
I thought, “This is the one.”
And here’s what it looked like.
Tell me that’s not a block.
There was no other choice.
And of course, using English instead of Katakana was a no-brainer ―
like asking if a banana counts as a snack on a school trip. Obviously, yes.
Later on, I looked it up and found out that “BLOC” actually has some cool meanings in French ―
things like “a solid piece,” “a group of people,”
and even “to build up” or “to stack.”
That part kind of made sense too.
Because what I do is all about building up skills, experience, and style over time.
Plus, the word BLOC just looks solid ― simple, bold, and strong.
It gives off that masculine, raw vibe I wanted for the shop.
And most importantly, the logo looks great.
Four clean letters, strong and balanced.
Perfect for a T-shirt or a sticker.
Yes, I totally chose it for the look.
So that’s how BLOC was born.
We’ve put a lot of thought into the interior and exterior,
so once we open, come check it out.
